Bowl Practice

Bowl Practice has begun! Actually, it started on Monday. Before this week I was curious to what bowl practice would be like. To be honest, sometimes it feels like training camp. But I'm not complaining. We've are in the midst of two-a-days with the morning practice consisting of us wearing only helmets. It is not a walk-through, though. We have all been playing very fast, flying around and making plays. The defense sprints to the ball, tagging off ball-carriers, while the quarterbacks have been on point, the running backs have been rotating and getting quality reps, the receivers are catching balls and making things happen, and the line continues to play physical.

The second practice has been in the afternoon. We strap up in full pads for that one. The enthusiasm is high among all of us players, so you can bet pads are poppin' and players are playing even faster during the afternoon practice. It just shows that we're determined to not only have a good time at the bowl game, but to go out and win.

The turnaround in between practices hasn't been very long. We've had meetings and weightlifting to go along with our daily meals. I haven't minded all that much because I realize the task at hand. It's also a benefit because our day is done around 6 p.m., giving us plenty of time to go home and chill. It's similar to an NFL day. We get up, go to work early in the morning and get home in the early evening.

We're basically the only students on campus. I must say it is different. Not that anyone ever really bothered me, but I haven't seen any neighbors walking around so I spend most of my time with my teammates after practice. I guess that really is nothing new.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the week's practices to get better and more prepared to beat Oklahoma State. I can't wait.
